A bit more about me!

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT…relaxing at home, going mountain biking with my 70-year-old neighbor (yes, he's awesome!), popping in and out of open houses I have no intention of buying or heading to the beach with the fam.

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS…a solo trip I took to Japan a few months before the birth of our daughter. I spent my days photographing Tokyo and Kyoto with my vintage Rolleiflex camera and black and white film, meeting new friends (who I love keeping in touch with to this day), and eating and drinking my way through both cities. An experience I'll never forget.

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS…Spain. My wife went last year and fell in love with Barcelona and its residents. It’s climbed to the top of her favorite cities list and I can’t let her one-up me on a travel experience, so I think I need to book a ticket there soon! (Side note: I love to travel for weddings and my bucket list is miles long. I'm lucky to be traveling to some pretty great places this year and next and hope to continue capturing destination celebrations.)

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS…meeting and keeping in touch with so many amazing couples whom I would never have gotten to cross paths with if it weren’t for my career. I also love, and take very seriously, the fact that I am solely responsible for providing these couples with tangible memories from their wedding day. It’s both wildly thrilling and quietly sincere.

IF I DIDN’T DO THIS FOR A JOB I WOULD BE…a travel blogger/photographer. Fun fact: I got to photograph and film a group of travel bloggers for a job commissioned by Royal Carribean a few years ago. It was so much fun and a travel highlight of mine for sure.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE…enjoy the ride! Have fun together planning your wedding, don’t stress over the small stuff and remember that, at the end of the day, what will matter is that you’re marrying your best friend. The little details are fun to include, but keep your focus on the big picture and make sure to have lots of fun when your wedding day rolls around!

I approach each and every wedding with an open mind and heart, along with extensive preparation and groundwork, to ensure the day is as incredible as you’ve imagined it to be. Read on to learn more about my individualized process for creating a magical visual narrative of your wedding day.

Local or Destination

I fully believe the people, not the place, make a wedding beautiful. And I will gladly travel to wherever you beautiful souls say I Do. Whether in my own backyard in sunny SoCal, at a villa in the rolling hills of Tuscany, or anywhere in between, I love being able to capture the intimate, one-of-a-kind story of your day.

For details on travel investment for destination celebrations, contact me directly or see my FAQs for a few commonly asked questions. I look forward to hearing more about your ideas for your wedding — wherever it may be taking place!

How long have you been shooting weddings?

I have been shooting weddings for almost a decade (since 2009) and can’t imagine doing anything else!

What equipment do you use?

I have pieced together my own unique inventory which includes both film and digital cameras. My go-tos are my Contax 645 (usually loaded with Kodak Porta 400 film) and my Nikon d750 with a whole bunch of classic lenses!

Can we meet you in person before booking/before our wedding?

I would absolutely love to meet you to see if we are a good fit for your wedding! If schedules allow, I’m always up for getting together either near Orange County or LA, or during my travels. I also commonly FaceTime or hop on the phone with couples to chat more about their ideas and my process. If you’ve booked with me and we didn’t get the chance to meet yet, I will work with you to try to schedule time(s) for meetings and/or walk throughs. Occasionally this isn’t possible, but we’ll work closely together to figure out the details.

Do you recommend a second shooter?

While most of my packages include a second photographer to help gain more coverage from your day, I have shot many, many weddings solo and find it’s really circumstantial and based on the individual event. It can definitely be helpful for weddings with a large guest list or certain logistical factors to have another shooter along, but it’s something we will figure out together based on what is right for your wedding.

Do you have any formal training in photography?

I was lucky to attend the prestigious Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Florida where I majored in Film Photography and minored in Feature Film Directing. I learned so much during my photography education, but really believe you learn the most when you are out in real environments learning and growing, so self-teaching is an on-going part of my journey and I hope to never ever stop learning.

What do we need to do to reserve our date?

A signed contract and non-refundable deposit is required to officially hold your date.

Do you shoot weddings outside of Southern California?

Yes! While I love shooting weddings close to home, more and more of my weddings are taking place outside of Southern California, and it’s been amazing to explore new environments and capture love around the globe. Truly, no destination is too far.

How can we book a session with you during one of your travel weddings?

Keep an eye on my travel schedule which can usually be found on my website and social media. If you will be traveling to any of the destinations listed and would like to book a session (engagement, post-wedding, honeymoon, family, or even an elopement) please reach out and we can discuss scheduling. I typically offer reduced session rates for sessions booked during my travels and would love to meet you!

How many hours of coverage do we need?

I find that 8-9 hours is generally a good amount of time for most weddings but, because every wedding is different, coverage time is something we will discuss together to find the right package or create a custom package for your wedding day.

What is your turnaround time?

This can differ slightly from wedding to wedding based on the time of year, my travel schedule and a few other factors, but galleries are typically sent out around 5-6 weeks after a wedding. Engagement galleries are typically sent out within 2-4 weeks.

Can we see a full gallery?

Yes! I’d love to share a full gallery or two with you so you can see how I capture a wedding from beginning to end. Many times I will include links to some in our email correspondence but please definitely request to see them if a full gallery is something you are interested in viewing.

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book with me 6-18 months prior to their wedding, but please feel free to inquire with any amount of lead time as I’ve booked many events outside of that range!

What fees are involved for a travel wedding?

When inquiring about a destination wedding, we will discuss the details of your event and I will create a custom quote including any necessary travel costs. It’s all really easy and straightforward!
